Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Hazy brown pour with a thin lingering tan jead. Nose was brown sugar, fruit, yeast and booze. Sweet earthy flavour with some decent steadily building bitterness. Likeable barley wine this.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Headingley, Leeds, W.Yorks Saturday 17th March 2012 consumed at home Sunday 25th March 2012 Dark murky brown with a little yeast particulates in suspension, however I’ve enjoyed this so much I only really looked at it once I’d poured the last few dregs into my glass, so it would definately have looked better than it does now, in fact it did so it gets 4/5. Quite thick and substantial in the mouth, the alcohol is also noticeable but then the hoppiness really starts to assert itself. Bitterness lingers for quite some time, again I notice how thick and heavy this is in the mouth. Citrussy but also a lovely bittersweetness going on. Anyway I’d better go as we’re making homemade Gnocci for tea and things are moving on at a swift pace, lets Gnocci like its 2012 (I’ve had a couple of beers this afternoon). A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
