No other Norwegian beer has won more international prizes than our Porter. We always include it in our tastings and it has turned many a ”lager lover” on to craft beer. It has a silky smooth mouthfeel with hints of coffee and chocholate. Good with classic stews, but mindblowing with dark chocolate!

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark brown with a thin, persistent dark beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is rich strong coffee, more dark chocolate, earthy too. Long bitter finish. Hints of red berries on the end. Luscious.

Pours a black from a bottle with a thin off-white head. Aroma of coffee, flavor adds dried figs. Very well-balanced, almost approaching a stout mouthfeel. Sort of like an oatmeal stout almost without that rounder feeling, or about as thin as a milk stout without the annoying lactic sugar added. Very good beer.

Appearance is black, a tan foamy head which persists and clings. Aroma- very chocolatey- fudge, brownies, dark malts, coffee, slight vanilla tinge, chocolate syrup, bitter hop undertones. Taste- lots more chocolate. Chocolate ice cream, dark, bready malts, brown sugar, caramel, fudge, coffee beans, bittersweet finish with just a hint of very dark fruits. Quite a full and sticky mouthfeel. Excellent.

Thick black colored, small non lasting tan head. Aroma is kinda sweet, chocolate, dark fruits, licorice, some roasted malt and coffee. Taste is moderate+ sweetness, bit toffee, chocolate, dark fruits and licorice, strong roasted and coffee dry bitterish finish with some sweetness and lasting aftertaste. Medium to full bodied, low+ carbonation, quite thick and creamy. Very good, would be excellent if only a bit less sweet.

500 ml bottle brewed 08.05.14, shared by Werckmeister, thanks!
Dark brown body, with a big, frothy, rocky, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate, wood, dark fruits, some smoke.
Tastes delicious, with about the same aromas, wonderful espresso, with slight ash notes.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes smooth, roasty, quite dry, with coffee, wood, cocoa.

Really tasty. Wonderful espresso notes, strong, but very smooth to drink. Completely worth the ratings, one of the best Porters I’ve had so far!
