Formerly called Festival Mild.
Was first brewed for the 2009 Bristol Beer Festival and made a reappearance at the 2010 Tucker’s Maltings Beer Festival, where it won a gold medal. It’s brewed with exactly the same ingredients as the Mild West, but to a higher original gravity and with a few more Bramling Cross hops thrown in to keep it balanced.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2011. Black beer with lasting tan head. Roasted malt and liquorice on aroma. A very tasty roasty mild with some oilyness. Really rather lovely beer. A modern dark mild. Decent enough. Thick and full in mouth. Very tasty

Cask-conditioned at the Victoria, Clifton Lido, Bristol 15/05/10. Near black in colour with a slight tan head, that left a trace of lace down the glass. Aroma of black coffee, dark fruit and a touch of chocolate. Flavour of roasted malts upfront, with a slightly creamy edge, followed by blackcurrant berry fruit and a gentle, slightly sweet finish. Very drinkable.
