Born in the luminous moors in an environment of untamed lochs and haunted Scottish castles, the ale Gordon Scotch Ale is so generous that it is willingly shared. Its white, unctuous foam, in total contrast with the dark brown elixir, is a pleasure for the palate. The connoisseur fraternity will recognise the authentic Scotch : the soul of the Scottish Highlands.

Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Low key aroma of sweet dark fruits and marzipan. Some booze. Dark chestnut with a ruby tint. Creamy light beige head. Sweet throughout - pretty syrupy. A fruit sour edge. At first I picked up more bitterness but subsequently it was into the finish that any cam through. Mesium bodied. Somewhat creamy but still on the thin side. Average finish. Long finish. OK but far too sweet for me to want to have any more.

Bottle from Delhaize. Pours dark amber/brown with a minimal tan head. The aroma contains caramel, sugar, butterscotch, roasted malt and toffee. It tastes medium to heavy sweet and very light bitter, which counters a possible cloying. Slightly roasted & metallic finish with some warming alcohol. Medium body, slick/syrupy texture, soft carbonation. I might even have this again. (Edited 30/1/18)
