Our first play with the "First Runnings" kit, this monstrous brew was as black (and as thick!) as Brent crude and ended up, after 4 weeks’ fermentation, at 8.2%! We hopped it at double the rate of Marduk in order to balance the massive maltiness and we’re really quite please with how this tasted when pitching the yeast...

Bottle consumed with Gazza and my dad 01.09.11, cheers Gazza for bringing this along This has a lovely warmth that you notice straight away, very indulgent beer. It pours very, very dark brown peeling away to a lighter brown at the edges with a thin rim of beige. Crikey this dangerously drinkable, some sweet liqourice, light creamy cappuccino, its really, really smooth and despite having a few months on this its aged incredibly well indeed. Loved this and another belter in a bottle! However it didn’t quite topple the CTZ from the top spot tonight. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

bottle at home ... my this is clearly the base beer of Vladichestvo ... you get all the same stuff without the vanilla ... blacl ... thinist bubbles head ... sweet roast ... light charcoal nose .. loft easy roast ...little caramel toffee ... soft roast ... my i know i only get the steel city beers in the fav style but i always really enjoy them... i think i prefer this to vanilla version as it a little less sweet .
