Cask at Fighting Cock, Bradford - Deepest brown body, off white top. Straight down the middle stout, decent roasted notes, rich and malty caramel, lots of dark burnt cake fruits in there too. Nice solid effort.

Cask @ Mason’s Arms, Todmorden. Extremely dark but not black with a thin bubbly head. Has a thin texture but a fullish roasted aroma and a medium roasted taste.

Cask at Market Porter, London Bridge 18 Nov 08. Black. An OK creamy tanned head. Aroma of sourish coffee. Burned/peaty impression. A bit unvaried but definitely different. Quite good, actually. Dry peatish finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 22/11/08. Almost black with a decent tan head that left a lot of lacing. Roast malt and dark chocolate aroma. Flavour had tonnes of roasted malt, a touch of toffee sweetness, dark slightly tart fruits and a long, bitter finish. Very drinkable and excellent.
