A dark ale with well-balanced bittering. Spicy, full-bodied and flavoursome with deep fruit aroma.
A wonderfully warming winter ale for you and your kin.

Cask. Reddish brown colour with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma is banana, some toffeeish malts, mild toffee and ripe fruits with mild chocolate to it. Flavour is sweet malts, chocolate, mild ashes as well as some fruity and mild figs.

Bottle at home ... deep red black ... thin creamy tan head ... chocolate and plums nose ... way to fizzy ... sweet roast malts ... big plums and toffee ... light dry bitter linger ... light burnt ness ... ruined by the fizz for sure

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 18/7/07. A dark brown beer with a malty aroma with supporting liquorice. The flavour started sweet with some figs, before a strong liquorice flavour kicked in. Not bad as a novelty beer.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear. Deep brown colour with lasting beige head. Oh yes, fig’s on aroma. Fullish in mouth. Some toffee, some fig fruit. At least it does smell and taste of figs.
