Bottled, 0.33l. Hazy dark red color with thin frothy white head and lively visible carbonation. Aroma mainly of sour cherry, some candy notes present, too. Taste is sweet and sour cherry with hint of a bitterness in the finish. Medium body, sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. One of the first beer tried, therefore might be a bit subjective rating ...

Bottle from Beers of Europe. It pours clear ruby, with a thin pinkish white head. The nose is sweet cherry, hint of tanginess, bakewell tart and lime. The taste is ripe cherry, cherry pip, wood, slightly sour and some vinegar, with a short sweet-sour finish . Medium body and fine carbonation. Not actually as sweet as I was expecting...

Jan 2010: Brown 25cl bottle of 4.3% ABV, poured into a Westmalle chalice. Cherry red in colour, pink collar and lacing, a thin covering also sat on top of the body at first. Weak aroma for a kriek, not your normal ’in your face’ cherry smell. Sweet and syrup sweet, not a mans kriek at all, kids and sweet toothed females only. Very un-impressed. Mass produced and you can tell.

Fra fat på Le Roy d’Espagne i Brussel 6 Mai 11. Rød. Lyserødt skum som varer en stund. Behagelig kirsebærpreg gjennom det hele. Passe søt. En god kriek.
