The Two Roads interpretation of this emerging beer style naturally takes a road less traveled. Unlike other versions, ours employs an American ale yeast and no spices. The result is a soft wheat backdrop that accentuates the Pacific Northwest hop character.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours slightly hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is light amount of citurs, with spicy hints (although no spices were used they say). To me this tasted more like a mildly hoppy American wheat than it tasted like a White IPA. I was not blown away.

Draught, small glass, at Schouskjelleren. Pale yellow coloured body, close to clear. Tiny layer at the top, lacing rings down the glass. Fresh fruity aroma joined by wheat. Wheat, peach and fresh apricot to the flavour character. Fresh bittersweet endnotes. Oily palate. Soft in the mouth. Medium bodied. A quite moreish drink (Oslo 28.03.2014).
