Rerate at Waterhuis. Clear dark golden/amber, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, brioche, candied plum, dried orange peel, pear, clove, red apple, brandy, vague solvent. Taste has sweet pear, candied orange peel & plum in a caramelly, syrupy malt body with spicy phenols, slightly bitter. Herbal hoppy finish, dried fruit notes, caramel & warming brown rum-like alcohol. Medium body, syrupy texture, average carbonation. Better than I remember, plain in its style but a decent BW anyway. (Edited 20/11/21.)

Deep amber to ruby colored, unclear, medium off white head, good lasting. Aroma is of caramel malt, brewing sugar, decent amount of fruit, some spices and a touch of alcohol. Taste is medium+ sweet brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits, spicy yeasty, low+ bitterness, bittersweet finish. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy. Alcohol well hidden and not that sugary sweet as expected.
