Enjoyed on tap at Piece while having some beers with a friend on a crowded Saturday night. Appearance is a dark but bright gold with a rich white head that laces. Aroma mostly citrus and pine, more citrusy than other IIPA’s. Taste is very citrusy and bitter, more hoppy than malty, surprising for an imperial ipa, thought this one was pretty good. Would gladly enjoy again!

On tap at Piece. Pours a hazy deer amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has grassy and pine hops with a slight old fruit note and backing sweet grains. Flavor has sweet grain up front with a nice hop note with resin, pine and a bit of grass.

(10/15/08) Draught at the brewpub in Chicago. Dark hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of citrus hops and some biscuity malt notes. Bitter hoppy flavor full of grapefruit and light sweeter malty tones with some fruit notes. Medium to full-bodied. A decent IPA.

Draft, at Piece. Fascinating brew. The waitress said it wasn't made to any style, I'd call it either a very malty IPA or a very hoppy wee heavy. A fine white well-behave head that leaves a little lace. Dark, cloudy brown body. Very bitter hop nose and nut brown malts, even a hint of peach brandy. It's one of those that tastes like it's been barrel aged, but really isn't.
