Cask @ Bandstand Bar, Nairn 191112
Copper amber, clear, thin frothy white head with some lacing
Aroma - light caramel malts, some soft toasted malts, hint of soft dark fruits
Taste - soft toasted malts, bitter English hops, soft fruity caramel malts, digestive biscuit malts, slight smokiness - most of the flavour is in the finish so I’m including that too - actually the more you have the flavour grows on you (need a full pint to taste this) - it becomes a fairly strongly flavoured traditional bitter
Palate - light body. Finish is considerably dry with bitter hops and biscuity toasted malts
Overall - No idea why this is a winter beer, it’s quite a decent traditional English session bitter

On gravity at the Portcullis, Clifton, Bristol 11/12/10. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of biscuity malts with a touch of citrus. Flavour had more of the same with a decent, bitter finish. Drinkable.
