Cask @ Market Porter, Borough SE1. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma. Sweetish roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.

Cask at The Bell, Banbury, Oxon 09-02-09 Pours deep brown, good looker, nice white head. Taste is really quite lovely, great malty base, some quality bitter chocolate lingers and then melts on the tongue. This ia a lovely full bodied beer. Snowing a blizzard so had to gulp me beer down and head back home, when I would loved to have had another couple of these. Lovely beer. A6 A5 F8 P4 OV16

Thin coarse white head doesn’t last. Brown body. Faint, harmonic roasty caramel and wood aroma with cinnamon notes. Delicate dry-sweet roasty fruity earthy nutty taste with caramel notes. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Light body. Dryish wooden caramel and tea aftertaste with floral spicy hoppy notes. Long aftertaste. Lovely! Incredibly drinkable. (0.25l cask, Gunmaker’s, Clerkenwell, London.)

Half, cask at Barony Bar in Edinburgh. A few patches on top of a nice, deep brown body. Light smell of dark malts. Initial taste of sharp edged malts, ending up with a more bitter, dark fruity touch. Moderately sweet [14.11.2008].

From cask pours dark brown yet clear and towards golden with a minimal white head. Chocolate and roasted malty aroma with a bit of bitterness showing through. Smooth malty finish. Smooth breadish note too.
