Darkish amber brown with a white rim on top and a little lace. Nutty and malty with some slight coffee and tobacco. A bit of bite from the hops gives a nice balance. Not bad.

Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby, 14/08/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white head. Nose is bready, faint orange, straw. Taste comprises light caramel, biscuit notes, light bread and fruit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings. Just about passable but nothing I’d look to revisit!

Cask-conditioned at the Crosse Keys (JDW), London 14/01/10. Amber in colour with a moderate white head. Aroma of sweetish malts and some fruit. Flavour also started sweet, with some nutty, earthy malts and bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the Live and Let Live, Cambridge, 11-10-08 Wonderful looking beer with a slim white head on a classic amber body, clarity is spot on. Good stringy fruitiness, good tang, sweet maltiness, finishes with a bit of apple (or is that me just hankering after the Cassels cider also on the table?)
