12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Nice copper color. Off white head, some retention. Aroma’s: sweetish malt/toffee, perfumey, a bit weird (vegetables?) (my girlfriend says dates, I can see that). Flavor is medium sweet, herbal (weird). Medium bodied. Finishes a bit dry, herbal. Not really my cup of tea.

35cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear dark amber colour, off white head. Aroma of vanilla fudge, marzipan, cake, tiny hint of spice. Flavour is sweet, malty, vanilla fudge, light alcohol, candied fruits, bittersweet finish. Light to medium bodied.

Can @ home. Cloudy, reddish brown appearance with a light brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Toasty caramel malty, earthy, herbal, somewhat spicy aroma. Somewhat syrupy mouth feel. Rich caramel, thick sugary, toffee, earthy, organic hoppy flavor. I’m not a big fan.

12 oz can. Pours an almost clear copper with a large beige head with great retention, leaves a little lace. Aroma is cornish and a little piney. Taste is lightly sweet at first then turns faintly bitter. Taste is a bit minty and caramelly. Carbonation is average and the body is thin. Quality winter brew.

Bottle @ Hotelroom, Denver. Pours reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel and spices. Taste is malt, caramel, fruit, strawberries, nuts and spices. Medium body, soft carbonation. Good winterwarmer. 140411

2008 vintage. I enjoyed this at Delilah’s 12th annual Winter Beer Tasting in Chicago, IL. Appearance cloudy gold with a thin white head. Aroma thin, mostly malts with a hint of spice. Taste pretty good, definite sweet cinnamon backing. It was pretty good but not great by any means.

22oz Bottle aprox 2004 "vintage" Pours a slightly hazy moderate to light mahogany with a distinctly yellowish tan head. Aroma is a very nice malty caramel with some cinnamon and milk chocolate. Actually very nice. If there was any hoppiness when it was fresh, it is long gone now. Soft fairly sweet malt flavors, a little woody and earthy some very mild notes of apple-butter and caramel. Carbonation is moderate and likely at the intended level. Finishes with a slight brown paper bag. Not bad considering some severe shelf aging
