Winter Solstice® is our take on the classic style of “winter warmer.” Boasting a deep amber hue and rich mouthfeel, its creamy finish will lift your spirits. Hints of toffee, spice, and caramel tease the senses making this the perfect ale to share with friends and family during the cold days and long nights of winter.

6.9% served in my Anderson Valley "can" glass. It pours a deep dark reddish-amber reminiscent of hardwoods. A luscious head of creamy beige foam rose from the can for a minor gusher. The nose is mild spices & bready sweet malts with a bit of a nutty edge to it that brings to mind chestnuts. Medium to thin bodied, it has that cream soda flavor the Summer Solstice had - doesn’t really work in winter though. Yep, fairly thin bodied - cream soda, a touch of caramel and a dab of spices. It doesn’t seem like 6.9% and is pretty easy to drink but not really worth the 600 yen a can it’s going for(you can probably get a 6-pack at that price in the US!). It does however improve as it warms up as all beers in this series have.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Dark amber with a medium head. Quite a lot of vanilla in this one. Also toffee, dried fruit, some light spices and notes of alcohol. A descent one.

Rødbrun klar med lavt beige skum. Melkesjokolade, kakao , nøtter, brendt karamell og maltlukt. Smaker mest søtt men med en lett bitter avslutning. Som lukt sjokolade og nøttesmak. Fyldig. Kort. Medium kullsyre

Flaska från SB. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad vätska med två fingrar högt skum. Kryddig och lite tvålig arom. Skamrik, karamellig och mjuk munkänsla. Lätt eldighet i eftersmaken.

This one poured a cloudy, deep amber colour with very little head, even after a vigorous pour. Scents include rum, ripe fruit, brown sugar and cooked veggies. First sip was smooth with flavours of tea and spice. Slightly sweet with a very light bitter finish.

Clear amber brown colour, small frothy tan head, recedes quickly to a thin layer, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, speculaas spices, cinnamon, dark fruits, brandy, alcohol. Taste medium sweet, slightly bitter, alcohol, spicy. Medium body, oily texture, bit watery mouthfeel, soft carbonation, overall malty sweetbitter finish alcohol notes, good.
