Maybe you feel it already, when the cap is removed and you put your nose to the bottle - this " Stout " smells different than what you are accustomed to. We have dry hopped this stout in the late stages of fermentation using the American noble varieties of Nugget , Centennial and Cascade, which allow the floral tones that make this a characteristic Stout - flavours of roasted malt give both lightness and freshness.
The glass appears Sundby Stout black , while the head is tight, light brown and almost cappuccino creamy, the tongue senses both malt sweetness, hints of bitter dark chocolate and English liquorice. Sweetness, however, cleverly balances the hard roasted malt and the split , umalted and roasted barley , which both help to give beer its roasted flavor. Sundby Stout is a classic " Stout ", which nonetheless dares to be different and challenge convention.

Pours a deep black color, topped with a medium sized beige colored head. Strong aroma of roasted malts, a bit smokey and some chocolate notes perhaps too. Also just a hint of funky, smelly nutty presence (or something liek that). Taste is sweet, a bit of caramel and coffee with just a hint of chocolate. Mild bitterness, easly drinkable.

Bottle, 0.50l, shared with friends at 3. Festival Mikropivovarjev, Koper. Almost black color with thin creamy light brown head and nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, grass and some flowers. Taste starts with smooth and rich moderate sweet roasted malt and chocolate, follows by refreshing grassy sourness and licorice, warming mouthfeel and moderate bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Velvety smooth and tasty...

500ml bottle from Appleyards, Shrewsbury. Pours pitch black with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee. Taste isn’t quite as rich as I imagined, just nice and smooth with a soft dark chocolate / roasted malt feel.

500 mml bottle tasted on the 24/02/2015. Deep brown colour with a low beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and hops. Taste has licorice and coffee. Sweet but balanced aftertaste. Very nice stout. Next one please!

At the 1st tasting of 2015 in Belgrade-Serbia. Pours black color, with a decent cappuccino head. Nose: milky, cappuccino, grassy herbal background. Mouth: top balanced beer, bitter grassy overall, (amazingly) hidden coffee. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaska från SB. Kolsvart, lågt beige skum som snabbt försvinner. Stilmässigt tycker jag den ligger någonstans mellan en porter och en stout. Kraftig och hårdrostad med kärva lätt brända toner, beskt kaffe och tjära men också sötare inslag av choklad och sötlakrits. Lätt humlad med en fin arom av fruktig espresso. Måttlig beska. Riktigt trevlig.

500ml bottle at home, from the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Dark brown almost black color with beige head. Aroma is light roasted malty, light hoppy grassy and floral. Taste is much better, sweet and light bitter, lot of sweet chocolate, some dusty coffee. Medium oily body with soft to average carbonation
