750 mL bottle from CaptainCougar. Thanks! Pours a hazy reddish amber with a thin head. Nice lacing. Aroma is lightly tart with berries, citrus, green apple, pepper and an herbal note. Taste is a bit thin and lightly tart with mild citrus and spice notes. Medium bodied.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a hazy orange body. Good lace. Aroma of tobacco, cigar humidor, cedar, lemon, dust, must, fruit and pepper. Taste is fruity followed by a strong cigar humidor flavor with notes of dirt and tobacco, spice and citrus hops. A bit thin. Light bubbles.

Bottled. Hazy orange color, short head. Aroma is slight tart, barnyard, some hop, hint of black pepper. Soury taste, slight bitter, sweet and with a peppery finish. Strange stuff, and again heavily overrated.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It looks nice in the glass, clear, golden-amber body, and a nice, dense off-white head. Lots of black pepper in the aroma, giving the beer a lovely twist, there’s also some sweetness, caramel and a little sourish note. The sourness is also present in the flavor, but initially and in the finish. The pepper isn’t as present in the flavor as it was in the aroma, but it comes sneaking, and is quite strong, but delicious, in the finish. Medium to full body, effervescent. There’s some sweetness and a little fruityness and pale malt as well in the flavor. The beer is maybe a bit too peppery, meaning it’s tending towards one-dimentionality, but it’s really lovely, and surprised me a lot. The pepper gives a warming mouthfeel in a completely different way than a strong beer does. The beer is best when it’s chilled. As the bottle heated, it wasn’t as good, but still a beauty. Gimme more!!! (080411)

Pale orange color, not much head. Horseblanket and leather in the nose. Orange, sourness, spices in the light palate - refreshing brew. Interesting Fantome with spicey aftertaste.

Bottled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is sweaty socks, leather and earth. Flavour is rubber, leather and very earthy and dry. Weird brew, even for Fantome.
