Here in Colorado we are blessed with abundant natural beauty.
Smokejumpers are those fearless wildland firefighters who specialize in parachuting into the wilderness so that we can continue to enjoy it. Smokejumper Imperial Porter is a tribute to them - a twenty-one degree plato porter made with barley malt hand- smoked by our brewers. Roasty brown in color, the long lingering smokiness wraps around flavors of molasses, toasted malt and an earthy hoppiness. Here’s to smoke in your glass, not in the woods. Smokejumper is the official beer of The National Smokejumper Association.

0.65l bottle from 2012 shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a really deep and dark brown colored body, on the border of being black actually and it has a medium sized quite rapidly fading brownish head. Love the aroma. Just so much bacon! Smoked bacon and beef with hints of pine, roasted malts and a little minty herbal hint. Nice! This is how I like my smoked porters. Not over the top smoky, not too sweet or too beefy. Really round and balanced this one! Gliding oily in the mouth and it's soft and gentle on the carbonation. There's a good amount of chocolate also in this one. Delish! 26.11.2014

Treated as an imperial smoked porter, this was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a good pace. Mild lacing builds around the rims nicely and adequately.
The aroma takes on the normal qualities of a smoked porter: some meatiness (maybe ham/bacon) and then there’s some salt, did they do this intentional? Me, I don’t mind, but have to admit, that’s a bit different.
The flavor yields to the sweet to smoky meatiness flowing over a sly earthy/bitter hoppiness. Saltiness comes back slyly. Decent flowing meaty sweet sly stickiness flowing over my tongue, sly subtleties.
Overall, a very nice imperial smoked porter that I would love to have again, but not comparable to De Molen’s Bloed, Zweet & Tranen or Alaskan’s Smoked Porter. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but just not up there.

Bomber bought @ Systembolaget. Pours blackish dark brown with a creamy mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, malty, smokey and boozy with roasted malts, caramel, dark roast coffee, fried banana with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, smoked ham, minerals and alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty, smokey and slightly boozy. Mouthfeel is round, slightly viscous, tiny roasted astringent, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, smoked ham, burnt wood, minerals, alcohol and hints of fried banana. Very well integrated smoke on a solid slightly banana estery imperial porter. Bit hot but it suits the beer and drinking experience.
