Here in Colorado we are blessed with abundant natural beauty.
Smokejumpers are those fearless wildland firefighters who specialize in parachuting into the wilderness so that we can continue to enjoy it. Smokejumper Imperial Porter is a tribute to them - a twenty-one degree plato porter made with barley malt hand- smoked by our brewers. Roasty brown in color, the long lingering smokiness wraps around flavors of molasses, toasted malt and an earthy hoppiness. Here’s to smoke in your glass, not in the woods. Smokejumper is the official beer of The National Smokejumper Association.

12/13/13/13/11/13

Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate and bacon with a phenolic note. Sweet licorice flavour with lots of smoke, and a touch of hot alcohol

Bottle. Black with a large, tan head. Nice smokiness, salt, sweet, "bacon". Easy to drink. Aftertaste was nice and long. Quite complex and interesting.

Bottle (2008 vintage tasted May 2010). Dark brown with a large, creamy brown head. Sticky lacing. The nose is sweet and malty at first with some hints of cocoa. Then a smooth and rich campfire smokiness takes over. Tastes rich in maltiness, roast, chocolate, and modestly bittersweet. A dry, smokey background, but the molasses does a good job of balancing it out. Gets drier as it warms. Nice creamy mouthful.

Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks JS). Quite much pitch black colour with beigeish brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some tar as well as mild smoked wet wood and some slight ashes as well. Flavour is very much tar, smoked wet wood, slight roasted malts as well as old coffee. Rather mouthfilling feeling while having this.

Bottle Pours out a smokey brown topped with a smokey cream head. Aroma of smoke, sweet malts, and smoked pork. Ahhh smoked pork. Sorry I am back now. Taste was not of smoked pork but of smoke, sweetness, molasses and rich malts.
