Bottle delivered from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. Mahogany and clear with a good-sized beige/khaki head. Sugary, malty aroma, brandy notes. Sweet taste with raisin, fig, light apple notes. Bitterness in the finish leading into the watery body. Medium to heavy carbonation. I'd forgotten how good this is.

Pours to a clear red / brown. Strong light shows up quite a lot of floaters. Head quickly dissipates to 3mm. Cherry on the nose. Mouth is sweetness and then alcohol. Nice hit of bitterness and cherry lingering for a while. Alcohol is a bit biting at the end. A bit of a calpol / cough syrup vibe to this. Actually kind of well rounded. Interesting and ok for a once off.

Fles 33cl thuis. Caramel, rood fruit, toffee, melkchocolade, sherry, pruim, kers, licht boozy, vrij droog, sticky mouthfeel. (1-1-2022).

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma beige fine persistente, color ambrato carico limpido, al naso Big Babol e solvente, in bocca malto caramello zucchero di canna uvetta, carbonazione moderata, corpo leggero, alcool troppo invadente, dolce con amaro moderato. 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe - Deep ruby body, lasting white top. Nose is boozy cake fruit, lots of sherry notes and maltiness present. Taste starts with a warming alcohol burn, the fruits and malty taste hits you after. Proper old ale character this, with a warming side from the ABV.

Finally grabbed to get new region. Cherry brown pour some head and thin alcohol film. Nose is cherry and tobacco. Tastes similar, some toffee some booze. Nice throwback brew

330ml bottle into glass at room temperature. From 1st Choice, Springfield. Ruby red beer with high fine carbonation and a towering foamy head. Aroma is boozy toffee malt with a hint of banana. Gorgeous. Zingy in the mouth. Tastes like a Christmas pudding with a lot of alcohol added. Dried dark fruit, malt, cake, it's all there. The finish is warming alcohol with a touch of sourness. Semi-sweet nightcap.

Bottle from Cheers Liquor Store, Todmorden. Dank brown and full of sediment after six years sat in my cellar, three years past its sell date but absolutely fine. Smoothish but perhaps crisper giving it a very drinkable texture, certainly for its strength, which isn't that obvious. The malt profile away from its aroma is a little subdued but perfectly drinkable.

Bottle from The Orkney Brewery. Pours an almost clear mahogany colour with a medium sized thick beige head. Gentle carbonation. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, cherries, apples and fruit cake. Taste is fairly similar to the aroma with the same notes and a little added spice and a touch of alcohol on the palate. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Well balanced. A lingering dry fruity finish. A nice winter warmer. Good one!

Malty, raisinny aroma. Sweet and syrupy flavor with some raisin, alcohol and coughing syrup. Soft, soothing and warming.
