25/VIII/2012 75cl bottle from Dranken Geers (Oostakker) @ my parents in law's place - BB: n/a (2012-965)
Bit cloudy red brown beer, small light beige aery head, unstable, non adhesive, dissipates immediately. Aroma: fruity, some caramel, bit dusty, cola like aroma, smoke, some citrus. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very smoky, no really, lots and lots of smoke. Some overripe fruits, touch of caramel, bitter hops. Aftertaste: lots of smoke, pretty bitter hops, some citrus, mainly smoke, seriously.

Bottle at CP&K. It pours cloudy deep amber, with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is spice, old teabag, chlorine, leather, mouldy wood and light sourness. The taste is spice, hay, leather, melon, pear, apple, light caramel, wood and leather with a dry, pretty spicy finish. Medium-full body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. A bit so-so from the great fantome brewery.

75 cl. bottle @ home // uber-murky fox, early apricot with a lightly tanned, solid med. head // smell is weird, like sweet mushy, lightly fermenting fruits with lots of sweet spices, alcohol and sweetness from fermenting fruits, natural alcohol, sweet, touch vomit // top half of the bottle tasting different from bottom due to things sinking, I suppose, top actually has earthly baby food (first time using this in a review), bottom gets this sweet caramel, toffee. lots soft overripe fruits. candy sugar, buttermilk, creamed milk, esters, overload, tad bitter spices, bitter, tad vomit, lots of chalk (also first time), baby food, carpet, weird, tad insane // last glass is again less awesome, too concentrated sediment I suppose // oddly not infected but this is not one of their saisons, I suspect that this is a fresh bottle // reasonable chunks of yeast at the bottom // its really cool to see the yeast sinking like drops of milk at the bottom of the glass // thicker, tad creamier body // the ghost strikes again

(Bottle, 0.75 l - no BBE date, at One Pint Pub, 20120804) The beer poured muddy brown. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sourness, spices and acidcness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, spices, sourness, vomit, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and bitter. A very weird mess that didn’t taste good.

750ml bottle @ One pint Pub, Helsinki
Pours dark reddish brown with a smooth head. Aroma of fruity malts, spices, earthy notes. Taste is very strange with some malty notes, dry fruits, biscuity notes, hints of fruity hops. Finish is dry and watery with some hoppy notes. Unbalanced and quite untypical.

Bottle courtesy of GT2, thank you sir! Hazy brown color, medium tan head. Aroma of raspberries, cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste is like spiced raspberry soda with hops added. Really interesting. Very tasty.

Location: Bottle at Max and Andy's Fantasy Tasting, 5/1/10
Aroma: The nose on this one is weird, some chocolate, some sourness, some wine-like notes, there is spice in there as well, with some fruits, and yeast, a weird combination
Appearance: This beer pours a hazy dark brown color
Flavor: The taste is kind of a murky combination of all the notes in the nose, its a weird flavor combination
Palate: A slightly acidic mouthfeel seems to fit this odd beer
Overall Impression: Ultimately this one is a complex beer that just doesn't work correctly in my opinion. There is a lot going on, but that doesn't necessarily make a beer great. Those pieces needed to work together, and in this case the combination is somewhat muddled.

Corked and capped 750 mL bottle courtesy of Skyview. Thanks! Not much to look at as it pours a murky, purplish brown muddy looking mess. Thin head with decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of cherries, berries and a mild earthy funkiness. Taste is dry earthy notes, citrus, plum, apple, berries and an herbal finish. Medium bodied.
