Bottle shared by Countbeer @ "Cut weer" tasting. Opaque pitch black color, full sized medium brown colored head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, oak, some liquor, some roast. Taste malts, oak, liquorice, softly bitter. Average to decent body, low carbonation.

Bottle, 11C. Opaque black with a tan head that starts a bit loose but settles to a dense 1 cm cap. Aroma of coffee, dark roasted malt, whisky - and maybe sherry too - grassy hops, dates, muscatels. Aroma is pretty gentle. Silky mouthfeel. Taste has bitter cocoa, coffee, dried fruits, roasted bitterness and some hop bitterness too. No obvious whisky taste - the beer has swallowed the barrel. Alcohol is very well hidden - it’s less obvious than the normal IS. I’m not a devotee of bunging stuff in barrels, but this one was a success. [4.2]4/14 [removed rating for 2013 version]
