Sampled from bottle @ home shared by Countbeer. Thanks for sharing Kamiel! Opaque very dark brown to black color, average sized brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, bourbon, loghtly alcohol, some chocolate, some liquor, slightly liquorice. Taste malts, bourbon, some dark fruits, some alcohol, moderately bitter. Medium body although texture seems a bit thinner than I had expected, medium carbonation. Very nice.

From old notes, maybe several years ago, marked as bottle 41/70 - My notes are very limited on this one. I think it may have been from the tail end of a RBSG grand tasting. Black pour. Thick, full body. Dominate flavors are bourbon and chocolate. It’s very good and goes down smooth.

Bottle @ Armin’s house, courtesy of arminjewell and Clevar. Thanks! Pours a black appearance with a thin dark brown head. Quite roasty, earthy, dark chocolate, light whiskey, dark fruity aroma. Coffee, vanilla, slight bourbon, toffee, dessert flavor. Really nice right now. Edmund Edmonds is @tame. Bourbon Edmund Edmonds is @fuckable.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is very strong, full of liqueur, vanilla, a little bourbon and red wine. Flavour tastes like a mix of bourbon barrels and red wine barrels, despite the absence of the latter, with secondary notes of chocolate, dark fruits, and liqueur. Quite unusual mix of flavours - certainly not a typical imperial stout, with the vinous notes. Finishes on the vinous notes, with subtle dry tartness. Must be infected, but it somehow works okay. Excellent off-kilter barrel ages impie.

Bottle 240/276 thanks to alen. Pours with a near black hued body with a small tan head. Aromas are of cola, brown sugar, bourbon, dark fruits, leather, oak and rich raisins. Flavors are of bourbon, leather, tannin, dry. Slightly odd finish. Lightly ashy finish. Great bourbon warmth. Bitter. Medium carbonation and fuller bodied.

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured black with a dark brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a good amount of roasted malt and chocolate with a backing bourbon note. A lot of dark chocolate (bitter) and roasted malts and only a slight sweetness from the bourbon.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and roasted malt as well as lighter notes of alcohol and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of sweet malt, roasted malt, and soy sauce as well as light notes of alcohol, leading to a dry and roasted finish.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Black color, small head. Clearly a barrel aged beer, there is a very nice oak vanilla aroma, with roasted and chocolate malt. Good body structure, not too thick, with just the necessary sweetness; good mix of roasted malt, chocolate malt and finally caramel; the mouthfeel is a bit oily; in the final the liquorice appears along with the roasted malt, and there is some light vanilla shade. Good bitterness, but a bit too much alcohol at the end. Very good, even if a bit confused.
