A reddish amber bitter, malty but with refreshing hoppy high notes on the taste. RIP Snorter is brewed with the finest English pale malt combined with some crystal malt and a touch of chocolate malt. Then we add a combination of local Fuggles and Golding hops at three stages during the copper boil.

500ml Bottle: BBD end of Aug 14, poured into a UK pint sleeve during July 14 and shared with no one. Clear reddy brown body with a thin off-white head that soon became a wisp and collar. Malt lead in the fruity nose and taste. Although fruity it is also crisp with a semi-bitter hoppiness that gives a slightly dry finish. Nicely balanced, well made brew.

Deep amber-red, no head. Has plenty of malts but with a sweetness that produces a potent nose. Itโ€™s fairly sweet tasting too with a medium bitterness and protracted malty aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Clear copper brown, no head. Aromas are malty and watery. Taste has a fruity sweetness and some butterscotch. I very rarely pour beer away, but in this case Iโ€™ll make an exception. There are better things to be drinking.

Bottle from Tesco, Wokingham. Poured a clear, deep amber with visible force carbonation and a dense off white head. Aroma of caramel, cream soda and a slight earthy hint. Grassy initial flavour with some light toasted malt and an almost herbal note. Finish was boiled sweets, straw and dried fruit. Nothing really bad, drinkable.

Bottle at the Night of Garbage, from a local Waitrose I think, 20/12/13 up a shit load of stairs ! Lightly hazed copper amber with a thin off white swirl come spotting atop the glass. Nose is biscuit, bready, fruit loaf, dates, toffee. Taste thins a little from the aroma with light toffee, apple skins, orchard fruit, earthy, biscuit malt. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, a little thin and watery. So so twiggy-esque number if the truth be told.

Bottle at the Night of Garbage, thanks to Colin for this Surrey Whale. It pours clear deep amber with a medium white head. The nose is tangy, caramel, varnish, some acidity, leather and raisin. The taste is watery, wood, twiggy, leather, varnish, dirt and a touch of bitterness with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Nothing particularly wrong with it per se, itโ€™s just very twiggy and watery. Pretty boring stuff.
