One of Van Steenberge's core beers, brewed for the Augustijnenpaters (Augustinians) of Ghent since 1978 and since 1982 in its current bottle-conditioned form. The mother beer of countless aliases.

The brewery describes it commercially as follows:

Hazy blond appearance. Aroma is very sweet, fructose, strawberries, etc. Flavour is like a fruity jam but also yeasty. Very lively carbonation.

Dark blond colour. Flavour has some sweet malts. It’s too sweet in fact. Very gassy. Feels unrefined.

Nice looking blond with well retained head. Light fruity sweetness in aroma. Flavour is sweet at first with a light bitterness in the finish. Quite crisp and refreshing with a high carbonation.

Bottle at the Spade Oak, Bourne End. Hazy yellow-amber with a thick white head. Light banana, honey roast ham, a lot of bready yeast and a hint od metal. Generally on the sweet side although just a hint of bitterness from some long-dead hops. Stereotypical Belgian ale; bit of a Leffe clone albeit with a little less character. Matched our sticky pork sharing platter surprisingly well though.
