(Can, 0.473l - canned on 23.06.2021, thanks tiong, at VastActiv, 20230105) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and sweet syrup. Palate was full bodied and sticky sweet with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, syrup, dark chocolate, ash, sweetness, more sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A boozy brew with many adjuncts.

Svart med beige skum. Lukter kaffe og lønnesirup. Mere av lønnesirup i smaken. I tillegg vanilje og kaffe.

Pint can from Wagner Market, 12/22/22. Black, medium dark brown head, below average retention. Aroma of coffee, roast, maple, vanilla. Taste is maple, vanilla, coffee, roast, cherry. Slick, mild booze. Thin for the style. Okay. New brewery! Apparently. Brewery #2123, USA #1719, Ohio #52.

Can - I’ve actually been actively avoiding buying beers from this brewery for years because of their crass name - but I was in the mood for a hefty imperial stout and this was at the store at the right price point (under 5 bucks a pint) - pours inky black - in terms of the hefty impy itch, it certainly scratches that - nose is an inviting blend of coffee and maple - slick mouthfeel and full body - coffee is full but not overly acidic or abrasive, tempering the sweet maple quite well - vanilla, roast, smoke - finish is warming but not boozy - as far as stouts of this ilk go, it’s actually quite balanced (not cloying and not overly hot), and I appreciate how well the coffee is integrated - okay, maybe I’ll try more of their beer moving forward.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Black, brown head. Cakey maple syrup aroma with some vanilla. Cloyingly sweet with full body and sticky mouthfeel. Vanilla, maple syrup and chocolate cake. Mostly cloying and unrefined, despite the expensive ingredients.

Deep garnet-brown body, thin-medium brown head. Nose sweet and woody with cocoa, maple, and vanilla. Body mostly fudgy, with the maple and vanilla playing second fiddle. I’m not sure what the base beer is, exactly, in the traditional sense of malts, hops, and yeast.
