The Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer is an unfiltered smokebeer, brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish brown lentbeer a natural cloudiness. Its smoky aroma is already noticeable in the smell, combined with a fine hoppy note. In the drink the fullbodied, highly drinkable lentbeer shows its strong malty flavour, rounded up with the smokey taste and a light bitterness. Due to the nourishing yeast, the Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer has the "Brotzeit already included" (German word for afternoon snack).

(Thanks, Jonas jonas) A- Beef jerky, smoke. A- Copper color, clear liquid, minimal head. T- Meaty, smoke, oak, mild bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, savory finish. O- Many many thanks to jonas for this. A big want and he hooked me up. If I lived in Germany this would be a stable in my home during Lent. Down right glorious to drink. We know Schlenkerla is great but this is their best.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. What a find! Dark, clear brown with one finger off white head. Smoky, woody aroma. Tadte brings more smoky notes, nutty, peat, roast. Super smooth with a nice lasting bitterness. Perfect all around.

Bottle. Color: Ruby to copper, beige head. Aroma: Smoked pork, malt. Taste: Smoked malt, smoked bacon, notes of wood. Moderate to medium sweet and bitter. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Another very good Aecht Schlenkerla.

Sampled on draft at Piper's this beer poured a brown color with a large foamy beige head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was intense wood smoke. The flavor was intense wood smoke, wood and a bit of malt. Very long wood smoke finish. Medium body. Too one dimensional.

Tap. Malty smoked aroma and taste, bacon notes. Tastes the same as aroma, medium bitter, light sweet notes. Full body, malty smoked bitter finish. Good.
