The Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer is an unfiltered smokebeer, brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish brown lentbeer a natural cloudiness. Its smoky aroma is already noticeable in the smell, combined with a fine hoppy note. In the drink the fullbodied, highly drinkable lentbeer shows its strong malty flavour, rounded up with the smokey taste and a light bitterness. Due to the nourishing yeast, the Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer has the "Brotzeit already included" (German word for afternoon snack).

Bottle. Hazy brown color, with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aroma is smoked ham, some wood notes, nuts. The taste I think is lighter than the Märzen, but anyway great, dry, perfect carbonation quite low, even some salty notes. Lighter body than other Schlenkerla beers, but excellent and with a very nice bitter end. Great drinkability.

Brown color, off-white head, dense with long lasting. Aroma with a high presence of roasted meat, toasty, slightly caramel. Flavor with smoked meat notes, burnt caramel. Slightly bitterness in the final, high smoked presence.

500 ml bottle. Pours unclear reddish with big foamy head. Toffee, dark chocolate, caramel, smoked bacon, brown sugar, some metallic notes. Medium bitterness, umami, some malty sweetness. Sticky texture, soft carbonated, full bodied, dry smoky finish, very palatable. Very nice!

Bottle, 0.5l. Hazy ruby/brown pour, two finger frothy beige head. Very good retention, lots of lacing on the glass. Subtle smoked bacon on the nose, charcoal, some grains. Thin to medium body, medium to high carbonation. Prickly, fizzy mouthfeel. Average texture. Taste is surprisingly bitter with lots of roasty notes. Aroma is roasty, charred, strong malt character. Subtle caramel. Charcoal, smoked bacon. Peppery grassiness beneath. Grains. Ash. Bitter finish, long lasting. Overall, a fine brew. Good complexity and nicely balanced. Tasty.

Keg at Waterloo Tap as 'Lentbier'. Smoke house aroma. Yum. I love an out of control bonfire. Hazy toffee brown. Thick shaving foam beige head. Umami with some underlying sweetness and perhaps a joint of bitterness into the finish. Thick bodied and creamy. Soft carbonation. Long if low key finish. Lovely.
