Spéciale Belge is een type van Belgisch amberkleurig bier van hoge gisting. De rijke smaak komt onder meer door het gebruik van gekaramelliseerde mout. Dit was het nationale bier dat gedronken werd voordat pils populair werd.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy amber colored brew with an soft sweet bitter taste, hints of caramel and some maltiness. At last Almere have some good beer after the well known Koelschip debacles.

Hazy pale amber colour, large fluffy off-white head, slowly unevenly collapsing, good lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, brown sugar, herbs, light cheese, basement. Taste is medium sweet and bitter, with medium duration, malty, toffee, light fruity notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, in the aftertaste mild maltiness and light fruitiness persist. Overall a decent ale but not yet in balance which makes especially the finish unsatisfactory. Must admit the best beer from Almere I’ve tasted up till now.
