Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival ’Københavnske Øldage 2006’ exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand. It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily. Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer’s popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

2007 Vintage bottle@bar: tasted alongside a 2009 Pannepot, this one had a lighter body and a more dominating liquorice taste, slightly lighter but still dark brown with very small dirty white head, overripe dark fruits, raisins, figs prunes, brown sugar, toffee, dark malt, hazelnuts, sweet with spices, good but a touch to much liquorice to me, preferred the 2009 Pannepot

0.33l bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Pours a deep brown body with a thin almost non existing bubbly off-white head. Nose is strong plums, dried fruits, some really nice strawberry and brown sugar. Medium+ bodied and medium carbonated giving a near creamy mouthfeel. First sip gives off some alcohol at first along with sweet dark fruits, dried figs, yeast and a nice spicyness. Also some licorice and a light woodiness hidden in there. Sweet and sharp aftertaste that kicks in like a bomb in your throat a long time after you have swallowed. Quite complex, well balanced and really tasty.

330ml bottle from Bierkompass

2007 vintage - Pours light brown with a nice foamy head. Taste is smooth and malty and has hints of caramel. Not quite as good as the regular Pannepot.

2007 bottle. Big malty Belgian. Lots of caramel, cherries, prunes and other fruity malt flavors. Flavor gets a bit sweet but it’s a minor criticism. Mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Good flavor and complexity but not quite up to normal Pannepot for me.

2006 bottle. I can’t remember who sent this to me, but thanks to whomever you are! The bottle gushes slowly as its opened. Pours a hazy very dark brown color with a medium sized creamy brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of big bready and caramelly notes, a good bit of raisins and dates, toffee, faint spice and a faint vegetal note. Even some chocolate if you look hard enough. Very faint oxidation notes. The taste is full of dried fruit notes... citrus, dates, raisins, figs, and huge malty notes as well. Bread, caramel, toffee. Very faint boozy notes. Full bodied. The fruitiness is a little bold for my taste, but still a damned good beer.

Bottle 2007, bb 06/2013. A darkbrown beer with a medium and beige head. The nose is fruity, syrup, strawberries, raisins and some warming alcohol. Taste is also full of dark fruits, prunes, raisins, some roastiness, alcohol is disappered and it is there only with the warming feeling. The aftertaste is dryer and sweetness is not too much, also some spicyness nad chocolate appears to the taste. Typically with yeast, the taste is calmer and also bananas can be found from the already complicated taste. Smooth and pleasant to drink. Complex, fruitfull and smoothly enjoyable beer without weakness; definedly worth to try.

Bottle from Bierkompass. 2007 Vintage. POured hazy brownish color with a thin firm white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is malty and sweet caramel and dark fruits, alcohol. Flavor is very complex, slightly sweet, berries, caramel and spcies. Incredibly smooth palate, like silk. No trace whatsoever of any alcohol. Very very enjoyable.

2008 version, bottled. Dark brown-orange color with a loose, high head. Tangy, fruity aroma. Flavor os raisins and caramel, tangy, fruity, somewhat sour. Nice tangy-sweet balance, big and dark. Flavorful and nice.

2007 bottles courtesy of Jason, thank you sir! Shared with Jason and Gotta. Nearly black, medium tan head. Aroma of raisins, prunes, licorice. Taste is dark fruits, rich caramel. Very nice stuff.Earlier Rating: 12/27/2008 Total Score: 42006 Danish label at Uber in Seattle Washington. Dark maroon, murky. Sourish caramel aroma, but much sweeter taste and a butterscotch finish. Bizarre, in an interesting sort of way.

On tap. Poured a cloudy light brown with a light brown head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma had notes of caramel and dark fruits (mainly plum, grapes and fig, cinnamon and some brown sugar. Flavor began sweet with candied sugar and caramel with growing spices and dark fruit notes, especially plum and fig.
