Bottle from ABC Beers, courtesy of Deanso. 9% ABV. Poured a clear medium reddish brown with a frothy short-lived light tan head and a few bubbles. The aroma is sweet malt, resin hop, light floral. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a smooth fruity, light floral hop bitter palate and a lingering alcoholic bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Nice but not too much to set it apart from the crowd.

Heavy. First a slight bit of acidity followed by a massive bitter hit. Aftertaste chocolate and something sour, cherries? Tiny bit of spice.

Thick yellow-cream head over chestnut-coloured, clear beer. Sweetish nose, bready, coloured malts; bit leafy. Slight smokey notes... Rauchmalz? Bitterish, smokey, again really leafy, autumn/dark leaves, husks. And even a bit of musk, some ureum in the finish. Slight astringency; spritzy carbonation harmonizes the slick, velvety MF. Not very well-bodied, however. AHA! Probably the best from Kees! so far - meaning Kees is back on his former Emelisse level.

330ml Bottle (Thanks Borresteijn) - Copper red in colour. Caramel, marzipan, raisins and rye bread in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with fruity, sweet and slightly sharp notes combining well and featuring hints of raisins, sultanas, prunes, marzipan and caramel. Very easy to drink considering its strength.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small tan head. Aroma is toffee and caramelish. Sweet, toasted and breadish to caramelish. Dry, bitter and roasted. Lingering dark malty finish.

Bottle shared. Dark brown with small beige head. Lots of caramel, light toast and smoke, light meaty, cane sugar, mineral water, dead leaves. Quite sweet with light roasted bitter finish. Full bodied with under medium carbonation.

Bottle. Brown pour. Aroma of caramelised malt, cinnamon and herbs. Flavor of caramelised malt, bitter coffee and a little iron. Not very interesting and why is this indian?

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB unreadable on the cap, large sample. Slight hazy copper color, short frothy head. Aroma of lots of toffee and caramel, slight burned caramel, bit spicy. Soft sweet in taste, slight alcohol, bit earthy bitterness. Bit on the sweet side for a doppelbock, slightly spicy and a bit more alcoholic and thin. At least not the massive maltiness german examples show. Probably this one will improve with a year or two. Decent stuff.
