DNA New World IPA is a perfect beer of two halves. We’ve combined the best of UK and American brewing to create a toasty, nutty, hoppy beer which brings a taste of US craft beer to British drinkers at a very respectable 4.5%.
More than just another American import!
This beer celebrates some of the world’s best brewing expertise coming together to create one exciting brew.
Dogfish Head, founded by Sam Calagione, is famous for its inimitable style and “extreme” beers.
At the centre of DNA is Dogfish’s signature 60 Minute IPA (so-called due to the length of time the beer spends in the boil with hops being continuously added). The Charles Wells team then add their ‘old world’ brewing expertise to the DNA to produce this seriously good beer!

Keg at Earl of Essex, Islington, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, malty aroma. Tastes vaguely hoppy, malty, slightly fruity. It is OK but lacking in complexity (I shouldn’t really be drinking anything from Wells and Youngs on principle).

Keg at the guilford... Copper... Thin white lacing.... Soft sweet fruitz... Way over cold and way over fizzy... Cant taste a thing... Huge tounge prickle... Soft fruits soft toffee.. Very subdued... Light soft malt... 3.2 Cask at haymarket.. Golden amber.. Small white head... Soft fruits... Juicy fruits.. Soft toffee... Light zezt ...soft floral and juicy... Totally different beer

Cask @ Duke of Wellington, London. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, flowery hops, light citrus. Flavor is malt, caramel, light spice, flowers, light citrus. Medium body, soft / flat carbonation. 190913

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a deep amber with a thin broken white head and lots of lace. The aroma is grassy hop and malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a hoppy, malt, weak liqourice, super refreshing palate. I’ve enjoyed the Dogfish head 60 minute IPA on which this is based and the roots of this beer are very clear, but its great to see that English twist to this beer that makes it a whole lot more acceptable in the UK. A perfect session beer. Really enjoyed this.

Cask from Guildford Arms. Clear copper body with a dense white head. Nice lacing. Muted aroma of grain and toffee (quite strange for a so-called IPA). Weak, diluted flavour of grass, toffee and earth. Really nothing like an IPA. Thin body with an oily texture. Light carbonation prickle. A poor beer - there’re certainly nothing ’New World’ or ’IPA’ about this. It’s more like a bog standard Bitter. (And a slap in the face at £4.10 per pint.)

Cask, handpump at The Angel & Greyhound, St Clements, Oxford, Friday 6th September 2013 Pours copper, clear as you like, sticky white head. This is brewed in collaboration with Dog Fish Head I understand and you can certainly get an American influence. A decent bitter, with good hoppy presence throughout, a touch tropical at times with nice juicy fruitiness. I really liked this, a good beer, served in good condition, in a pub I’ve always rather liked. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at the Buckingham Arms, Westminster, 02/05/13. Clear golden/amber with a thin off white head. Nose carries light hop notes, peach, citrus, floral tones. Taste comprises hops, grapefruit, hint of mango, caramel malt lite, low cal tropical fruit sundae smoothie, touch of pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, some hop bitterness in the finish. IPA lite - very sessionable stuff.
