White Horse,.Nicholsons. Cask. Bright clear amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and dry with good superfine carbonation. Smooth dry malt, whisper of sweetness. Mellow citric hops - mild orange, whisper of lemon and very light hop spice. Turns a little sweeter with light tropical fruits. Decent beer but not much DFH magic has rubbed off.

Cask @ Barton Arms, Worsley. Deeper amber with a thick smooth head. Plenty of IPA character with a very dry fruited nose. It’s a little dress dry in its taste but you still notice this texture in the palate, although there’s only minimal fruitiness in its flavours.

Cask. Appearance is clear, amber, a white head, leaves some lacing. Aroma- malty, little bit of fruit, some hops, slight zest. Taste- smooth, some bitterness but not a great deal, plenty of malt, yeasty, hints of orange and lemon in the finish. Quite tasty.

Cask at henry Addington. Copper colour with creamy head. Aroma is grassy lemon lemon citrus hop, mineral and berries. Flavour is low veg, grassy hop and berries. Palate is very thin tga chalky. Hop finishes with a spicy notes. Left wanting.

Cask (handpump) @ The Black Heart, 3 Greenland Place, Camden, Greater London, England NW1 0AP.Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, bread, light fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20130401]

15/12/2013, 1st rate: Cask at the Duck in the Pond (Ember Inns), Harrow, RB score 7/3/8/5/15. Pours a bronzey amber with a medium-sized white head. Pine and citrus and tropical fruits set against a solid biscuitty malt background. Lovely smooth resinous mouthfeel that is very drinkable and very moreish. Gentle bitterness. This has the great aromas and flavours of US IPAs (albeit toned down a little) combined with the balance, rich mouthfeel and sessionability of a UK bitter. Finally a US-UK collab delivers as you hope it should, and how unexpected it is for it to come from the unfashionable Wells stable- nice one chaps, I loved this and could have drunk a lot more if not out with my in-laws! 28/4/2015, 2nd rate. Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe. RB score 6/3/5/3/12. Pale amber with a thick white head and a light sparkle. Pine up front with floral hints. Some caramel and soap with a lasting hoppy aftertaste. Some liked this on the night but I was not so keen. Strange I rated it so much higher the first time around. Published rating score is the average of all the times I’ve rated it.

Cask at Haymarket. Clear amber pour, nice white head. Aromas of honey and malt, light citrus hops. Taste has more hoppiness going on, then a toffee hit which knocks it a bit out-of-kilter. Not bad, not great. I wish Dogfish Head would start exporting again.

On cask at the Haymarket Bar. Appearance - amber to honey with a nice head. Nose - honey and malty cereal. Then toffee kicks in. Taste - honey and soggy bran flakes Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly fresh finish. Overall - a solid citizen. Then it just started getting better and better. Completely grew on me down the pint.

Keg at Earl of Essex, Islington, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, malty aroma. Tastes vaguely hoppy, malty, slightly fruity. It is OK but lacking in complexity (I shouldn’t really be drinking anything from Wells and Youngs on principle).
