DNA New World IPA is a perfect beer of two halves. We’ve combined the best of UK and American brewing to create a toasty, nutty, hoppy beer which brings a taste of US craft beer to British drinkers at a very respectable 4.5%.
More than just another American import!
This beer celebrates some of the world’s best brewing expertise coming together to create one exciting brew.
Dogfish Head, founded by Sam Calagione, is famous for its inimitable style and “extreme” beers.
At the centre of DNA is Dogfish’s signature 60 Minute IPA (so-called due to the length of time the beer spends in the boil with hops being continuously added). The Charles Wells team then add their ‘old world’ brewing expertise to the DNA to produce this seriously good beer!

330ml bottle. Dark gold amber colour, foam white head and aroma of malt, toffee, citrus hop. Taste is biscuity malt caramel, sweetish, with fruity citrus earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, biscuity dry bitter at the finish. Quite OK.

On Draught, Shipping Forecast, Liverpool. Amber looks with a meek white head. Weak aroma of vague citrus. Watery insipid flavour with a pathetically lacklustre hop profile. A chore to drink and a pointless collaboration. Excpected a lot more from Dogfish Head.

Draft - Dark malts and caramel. Clear amber with a rich beige head. Earthy hops and dark caramel malts. Nothing like an IPA, but an English dark hopped ale?

Nose is slight lime. Taste is sweet lime a little mango, lots of malt and bread, berry with a thin finish. This is not an IPA and certainly not a new world one. It’s a crap APA. Terrible stuff.

Pale, almost lime-y coloured pint with a light hop aroma. Flavour is slightly sweet with a hint of a grapefruit. Drinkable but underwhelming.

Cask @ The Swan, Nicholson’s, Hammersmith W6. Pours a golden pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy and weak peachy flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Farrier’s Arms, Worcester 22/3/2014. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Big citrus fruit and hop character, with some sweetish malts and a moderately bitter finish. Enjoyable.
