Festive Spruce Ale.We have brewed this special festive ale using malted barley, a variety of high impact specialist hops and hand picked spruce tips which are only ripe for picking during a two week window in the spring. The resiny sweetness of the spruce and malt is countered by a huge hop character, which is just delicious.

Bottle shared at the John/Jim tasting. Hazy orange with a small white heads. Aroma of massive spruce, orange, floral notes, light red fruits and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Weird and different but pretty nice.

Bottle shared at THT. Clear orange golden with bubbly white head. Sweet grains, bubblegum, spruce, resin, more spruce, caramel. Very sprucy. Medium sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied. Decent for a beer that tastes like licking a Christmas tree.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a thin white head. The aroma is zesty citrus, sugar, light grassy hop, some spruce! The flavour is light bitter sweet with a sweet malt, citrus, fake sugar, swizzels light spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

(Bottle) Clear amber with slight white head. Nice aroma of pine and citrus. Medium body with excellent soft and bright carbonation. Lovely balance of flavours - sweet malts balanced with some nice hop bitterness and some other interesting notes including plums and raisins. Very impressive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smaczne piwo z niewielka pianka, metnoscia srednia. Koloru zloto pomaranczowego, pachnacego intensywnie cytrusami, limonka i brzoskwinka z lekka nuta cukru. W smaku gozkawo cytrusowe, swierze i powiewne, pasuje na wiosenna aure. Jedyny minus to zbyt wyczuwalny alkohol.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Only sold as a special at Christmas. Cloudy light-brown with a frothy head. Certainly unfined, this is evident straight away and has a very light sourness to its taste. This includes some light hoppy notes with a small stewed fruitiness attached. It’s pretty decent.

Keg at BrewDog Camden. It pours clear deep amber with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is fresh pine, orange peel, Parma Violets, Tums and marmalade. The taste is nicely bitter, wood, caramel, Tums, chalk, Parma violets, resin, leather soft fruit and citrus peel. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting, good depth of flavour and balance.
