15/VIII/14 - on tap @ Internationaal Streekbierenfestival (Zwevegem) - BB: n/a (2014-906) Thanks to Johan and Fokke for sharing today's beers!
Clear ruby red beer, creamy pink head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, very fruity, black currants, syrupy, sugary, forest fruit candy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, bit sugary, sour notes, lemony, sour berries, bit syrupy sweet. Aftertaste: some bitter tannins, maybe due to the skins of the currants? Sourish, red berries, syrupy sweetness, lemony, cherry flavoured chewing gum.

Pours a deep purple with large purple head. Very rich, sickly sweet blackcurrant taste and slightly fizzy which was a bit off-putting. Don’t think I’ll feel a yearning for this any time soon.

Bottle @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Pours purplish reddish black with a big shark-got-the-guy-in-the-water head. Aroma is a big currant hit with a hint if seawater. The taste is a sour fruit flavour, nicely balanced. A decent beer.

I don’t drink many lambics due to the fact that I’m not a true fan, however, I have a friend who is determined to change my mind.
Into a stange.
The appearance is a purple/pink colored body that starts off with a finger’s worth of a foamy white head; lacing is sporadic and clingy all around
The smell starts off with some raspberry, and as she warms, there’s a light blueberry combining to mainly make it semi-sweet but yet carries a somewhat tart/sour connotation to it.
The taste is centered around some raspberry and blueberry combination of tart to sweet balance-ness, gets kinda juicy (must be authentic); sweet sticky aftertaste; watery juicy finish.
The palate is light to medium sort of body with a somewhat softer carbonation to it, and somewhat sessionable.
Overall, this is a lambic I could drink again. This didn’t come across as too vinous, overly tart or too sour.

250ml bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours hazy red/purple with a thin pink head. Aromas of blackcurrant cordial, vimto, slight sour note. Taste has a much bigger sourness, lip-puckering. More big blackcurrant flavours, creamy texture and a smooth finish. Nice, for what it is.
