We blended this English-style barleywine with grape must for a distinct, vinous character that pairs well with slow braised dishes or acoustic folk rock. Notes of plum, pear, grape, red wine, fig, honey, and rock candy blend into a complex, slow sipper.

6 3 7 3 13 Bottle shared at kermis birthday tasting. Hazy golden brown with a small off white head. Aroma shows of the grape must upfront (though it's not a very good thing), fruity notes, candy, caramel and floral notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared at kermis' birthday. Hazy copper with light beige head. Light grapes, sweet malts, caramel, bitter herbs, alcohol, bready, dank grape skins, raisins, a hint of red wine. Over medium sweet and bitter. Almost full bodied. Quite complex but also alcoholic. Not bad at all!

Bottle split at RB Best Hotel Lobby Share, post festival, 31/01/16. Rich amber with a decent off white cap. Nose is dark fruit rinds, fruit loaf, light fart, red grape must, wooded tones, toffee. Taste comprises sweet and sour licks, dates, figs, plummy depths, vinous, caramel melt, toasted brown sugar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a boosty rise. Average stuff to be honest ... lacks depth and cohesion.

22 oz bottle poured. Much thanks to Keven for the share. A shadow filled reddish copper color with a patchy head. A nutty malt, and juicy wine like grape aroma. Flavor is a sweet and bready malt, followed by a massive grape juice. Very impressionable. I miss Florida. A top tier unique barleywine. Not bad overall. A very fun beer. Pretty good.

22oz bomber, courtesy of burg326, pours with a hazy deep copper body that has brown hues and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark grapes, brown sugar and then thin rivers of caramel and molasses with more fresh organic grape notes toward the end of the draw. The taste quickly gets into malt sweetened grape that has a fruity tanginess to it around the edges which helps maintain a counter to the sweetness that is ramping up. To midway wafer thin sweet layers of molasses and caramel are noticed amid the grape fruitiness that is held a few rungs below being on the bright side due to the sweet malty influence. With a bit more age the grape fruitiness might pull back just a bit and soften to allow more malty and reduce sugar complexity to peak through. Still this is a fine sipper. Cheers!

Dark clear amber color, good creamy beige head. Light fruity, malty, sweetish nose. Medium-bodied. Berries, caramel, alcohol in the flavor. Again, as all FB beers, very clean palate but lacks depth. Easy for being 10,5%.
