Geradeaus und geradean – unser Helles ist kein Trunk für viele Worte, sondern ein ehrliches, direktes Bier. Doch lieber a weng philosophisch? Aber bittesehr: Obendrauf sahnig, untendrunter goldgelb, innendrin mild, feinwürzig und mit einer leichten Süße. Aber schon auch mit einer gewissen Hopfenblume. Und von einer Malzigkeit im Ausklang, die einem sofort Lust aufs nächste Seidla macht.

500ml bottle in the biergarten of the brewpub. Decent white head almost blanketing the glass as it goes down, Clear golden coloured body. Noble hops and pale malts on the nose. Taste of buttery malts with a touch of citrus fruits towards the ending. Soft in the mouth. On par for the style (Bamberg 10.10.2014).

Pours a clear golden color, topped with average white head. There is a pleasant malty aroma, not too sweet, plus there’s also grainy smell present. The taste is malty and decently bitter towards the end. Nice, dry body, with refreshing bitterness in the finish. Very nice.

Bamberg Jolly day 1 24/01/2014. At Mahrs Bamberg. Crystal clear golden yellow coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is grassy nobel hop, some floral notes and nice cereal. Flavour is clean sweetish grains and crisp nobel hop finish. Medium plate, somewhat thin

Vom Faß bei Mahrs Bräu, Bamberg. - Strohgelb, klar; kaum Schaum. - In der Nase leicht würziger Hopfen. Im Antrunk desgleichen. Leicht süßes helles Malz, aber eher hopfenwürzig als malzsüß. Mild rezent. Leicht trockener Abgang. - Mild und süffig; zwar etwas stärker hopfenbetont als andere Helle, aber doch eher unauffällig. - Hatte dieses Bier von früheren Verkostungen aus der Flasche anders in Erinnerung: ungewöhnlich herb, sehr trocken, mit grasigem Hopfen. Vom Faß war es beinahe eine Enttäuschung.

Bamberg Bash Day 1.Draft at the brewpub. Bright clear gold beer, small white head. Light crisp palate. Light dry pale malt, slightly nutty. Stinging carbonation. Touch of marmalade hops. Dry crisp finish.

Draught at the brewery, from a barrel I believe. Something went wrong with this beer. Undercarbonated. Smells like warm french toast. Terrible taste, like rotting plant matter. I think highly of Mahrs but this beer went terribly wrong. If I had not had it at the brewery, I would not have rated it at all.
