Wineglass showing pale amber with sparse white foam. The nose shows lightly intense notes of brett and dried apricot. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Moderately tart with light notes of brett but stronger notes of steel tank throughout.

Bottle been maturing nicely for a few years. Golden colour, off-white bubbly head. Nice carbonation. Aroma is yeasty, slight triple like fruity sweetness, plus the obligatory sour funkiness. Maybe the years have mellowed it a little as the aroma is not so sharp. Taste is very nice, very musty, funky and sour, nice lemon sherbert. Peppery too maybe and lightly creamy, cream cheese.

Bottle, best until 20.01.2025. Bought in Café Moriau, St Pieters Leeuw. Aroma has pineapple and cedar, citrus and honet. Very oaky flavor, with a considerable dry-out effect. Lemon, plastic, pineapple and even banana detected, but the oak is prominent. Very tasty, but lacks balance. The old Moriau brew (yes, I’ve tasted it, it was one of my favorites!) was better. Still a good geuze.

9 June 2019. At 'De Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst'. Cheers, Anke & Pieter! 37,5cl bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lasting, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of wood, white grape, young cheese, hay, straw, dry grass, leather, old apple, unripe apricot. Taste is medium funky sour, hinting at unripe (yellow) fruit, vinegar, hay, restrainedly lactic but rather cheesy & yeasty, against a dry bitter backbone of straw, wood, grass, leather & grapes, settings some tannins at work here; vague sweetish fruity accent too. Dry, tart, woody finish, faint grassy hops, more straw, grapes, as such some more puckering tannins & an elegant dash of white wine-like alcohol (which I like to call 'sour Jesus wine'). Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Elegant, vinous, dry Geuze.
