Bottle from Nina’s Edinburgh [270113]
Reddish caramel, very hazy, frothy off white head that dissipates
Aroma of fruity caramel malts, dab of soft orange, touch of citrus hop, mellow . Taste of fruity caramel, mellow citrus zest, touch of grassy hop, some orange. Palate has a medium carb and body, fairly dense bit soapy mouthfeel, which was ok for me and some smoothness. Finish as main flavour - soft bitter hop finish with fruity caramel, lingering soft bitter linger, hint of alcohol.
Overall - Going by Kernel’s usual standards it seemed unremarkable but was decent enough. It wasn’t that fresh though which has probably affected the rating

Bottle 330ml.[ Trade by madmitch76 ].Hazy medium orange colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light rye, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, mandarin, mango, tropical fruit. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, hoppy, citrus, dry, warm citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121116]

330 ml bottle bought @ beermerchants.com. Pours hazy anger with a small frothy amberish white head that is rather slow to dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty, fruity and slightly perfume-like with bread, grapefruit juice, pineapple, mango, caramel, papaya, star fruit, pine, grass, lingonberries, lemon zest and orange zest. Taste is tiny sweet and bitter with bread, caramel, lingonberries, pine, orange zest, lemon zest, cereal, pine, mango, pineapple, raspberry hard candy and grapefruit juice. Mouthfeel is round, slitly oily bitter and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and fruity with bread, caramel, pineapple, mango, pine and raspberry hard candy.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty piney hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy grapefruit flavor. has a fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a cloudy reddish brown with a thick milky tan head and some broken lace. The aroma is rich and hoppy, leading to a medium to high bitter flavour. The hoppiness dominates, with some hints of sweetness on the palate, along with the expected dry spicy bitterness. Another winner from The Kernel!

Drukket på bryggeriet 3 Nov 12. Mørk amber. Lavt skum. God, litt søt fruktaroma. Smaken plommer. Svakt syrlig ettersmak.

330ml Bottle (conditioned): best before 8th feb 2013. Poured carefully into a ’Specale PALM’ badged tulip @ home on 7th Dec 2012. The beer had a full, deep creamy textured head of biege foam/bubbles: below sat a cloudy/hazy/murky body of dirty reddy brown body of beer. Huge floral hop aroma and taste: this is one hop monster for a UK brew. Some fruity notes stood out (Pink Grapefruit, other Citrus semi-sour flavours and some red berries): giving it a different and interesting taste compared to most UK brewed beers. The alcohol was just about hidden by the hops but not completely, will not pretend I loved the beer but I’m glad I bought it: as this brewery is making a name for it’s self down in London and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

Reddish blond colour, white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, rye and roasted malts, caramel, light floral. Bitter, light sweet flavour, honey and hops. Sweet bitter finish.

300ml shared bottle, drink-In at the Kernel microbrewery. Opaque, near muddy, dark brown body. Patchy surface. Aromatic with citrus and mild roasted malts. Blended bittersweet taste of grapefruits, orange, bread and caramel malts. Dry bittersweet ending. Very nice (London, 03.11.2012).

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a very hazy deep amber with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a nice rye note with a bit of light line hops with a touch of sweetness. Flavor starts with a smooth rye note that is joined by a light resinous pine.
