Die "Saure Susi" ist des Braumeisters Antwort auf die Riesling-Schorle! Nachdem die Saure Susi 2016 und 2017 sehr erfolgreich Bierliebhabern den Stil des Sauerbiers nahegebracht hat, gibt es auch in 2018 wieder einen neuen Jahrgang. Diesmal als saures Weizen-Schankbier mit nur 4,2 vol.% Alkohol. Durch das Weizenmalz und einen niedrigeren Vergärungsgrad ist der Körper etwas voller als im Vorjahr, die Säure dafür etwas verhaltener.

Jahrgang 2020: 5,3 Alkohol. Beim Brauer bestellt. Klares Orange, Bernstein, kein Schaum. Aroma: Sauer, etwas Gurke, Zitrone, Limone, etwas Hopfen. Geschmack: recht geschmackloser Antrunk, dann sauer. Gurke, Säure, Milchsäure, würzig, etwas Zitrone, Mandarine.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Tart-ish, tannic aroma, hints of green wood, fruity hints of unripe gooseberry, rhubarb. Taste is tart, minimally dry, minimally tannic, woody, fruity, hints of sour berries, unripe gooseberry, rhubarb. Simple, monotonous, fairly refreshing.

11.2 oz bottle at the May 2018 DC RB Tasting. Poured a clear, kind of pink hue color, no head. Aroma was light malt, sweetness. Very mild tartness? Kind of stale hop. Flavor was mild tart. Slight earthy.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Slight hazy darker golden with short lasting fizzy white head. Grapes, light lactic notes, plums, sour grains, light pils malts and soft dry but not sweet caramel. Light sweet and about medium sour. Light bodied. OK.

Les Thons. Bottle shared, golden with white head. Sour lacto, sickly milkfilm, sour grain, hazlenuts, cardboard. Quite sour and bitter. About medium body and soft carbonation. Weird. Many thanks for this beer to Erzengel. Pours a hazy orange color. Faint sourness on the aroma, hints at acetic.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for this bottle! Sourish nose. The beer starts intense sour with lots of grain. Round and intense in the body, fresh with a nice our refreshing aftertaste. Lots of fruitiness, the grain is not dominating the picture, the bitterness is moderate. Great and sessionable sour.

ProBier Bamber 2016. Amber, low head. Super sweet honey aroma, a bit phenolic. Light dry body. Flavor like a cyser, lactic finish.
