(Keg at Sori Taproom, 20171212) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had sweetness, soy sauce and alcohol. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were cough mixture, burnt malts, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A sweet and messy brew with medicine-like notes.

Forgotten bottle from Local Swap or Secret Santa. Thanks! Seemingly quite high attenuation initially, with med-thin body, but is eventually filled in by intense complex flavours. Light sourness is coming off the roasted malts, also showing mostly initially. The bulk of the impression consists of intensely roasted malts, burnt, coffee, but also dried fruits, chocolate, caramel. Rich and intense as befits an imperial stout. Relatively easy drinking as far as RIS goes. Good one.
