Our tribute to the late Jeff Hanneman and the greatest band of all time, Slayer. This pale ale is brewed with fresh blood oranges and blood orange juice that is hand squeezed at the brewery. It should be enjoyed fresh and paired with delicious heavy metal. SLAYER!

12 oz. can from Total Wine-Viera. Pours a medium bronze color with an off-white head and good retention. No lacing. Caramel and light hops aroma. The taste matches the nose: Caramel malt flavor up front and a light hops finish. I taste almost no orange. This is more of an amber ale than an APA. Decent flavor, just mis-marketed.

bottle - Copper pour. Smells of caramel and bready malt and oranges. Flavor is similar and on the malty sweet side with mild bitterness. Medium bodied. Okay, overall.

Bottle. Nose of orange, biscuit, some caramel, grass, some pine. Juicy and biscuity with orange flavor but not the overwhelming citrus of so many others of this type. Decent.

Bottle from J’s. Pours a clearish, deep copper with a finger of foam that lingers then dissipates. Malty, caramel forward nose. Toffee and overripe blood orange. Thin and sweet. Too sweet and heavy for what it is. Need less malt and more hops.

Aroma’s fairly mild with malt and a bit of orange. Flavor’s lacking in hops for a pale ale: a little butterscotch and orange. A fairly ho hum beer.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a caramel-orange color with an enormous foamy yellow-white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was tart and dry orange. The flavor was tart, dry and bitter with orange. Medium length finish. Medium body. meh.

355ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, dark amber colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Fruity aroma, hints of blood orange. Taste is slightly sweet malty, fruity, minimally bitter, notes of blood orange, some caramel. Simple and monotonous. Just OK.

Pours dark golden, yellowish. Aroma has some berries, sweetish. Taste is mildly tropical, sweet base but balanced with some bitter hops. Very drinkable and I do like its character.
