Thick but soft sweet malts. And a touch of hop...less brash than I think I was expecting. Has some nice balance.

Like picking the correct financial statement from a pile, this is like picking an ipa from the ubiquitous brazillion out there. Typical terrible on style ipa blast. What else can be said? Is it sharp astringent ? Is it in yer face? Is it pale yeller? Is it everlasting bitterness for an hour after yah drink it? Is it like drinking creamed green grapefruit rinds mixed with pine tar and then thinned with turpentine? ? You, answer those questions after you try it. Whew. Perhaps more like a clean strong ipa rather than an impy. Not as mouth coating as an impy and not impressed tho on style for an ipa.

355ml bottle from Saveur-Biere. BBE 12/2016. Pours clear golden orange with a small head. Aroma of caramely malts, chewy fruits, tropical notes, pine, resin and citrus. Taste is sweet, caramely malty and chewy tropical fruity with some pine, resin, citrus and grass. Finish is resinous, piney and grassy with some lingering bitterness, citrus and sweet caramely maltiness. A pretty generic west coast DIPA.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/31/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon/orange rind, pine, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and fairly bready/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Almost clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, fair bit of cream and lactose. Piney hops, mild hop spice and a touch of tropical fruits. Light finish. A bit lactose sweet.
