In separate lands, and separate cellars, these two breweries sent millions of tiny funkronauts to party into each other’s cellars, creating vibrant flavors brought from another world. Minerality, tartness, sweetness, and acidity all dance playfully with the malt, hops and fruit of host beers, aging splendidly. Funk Vessel blends worlds and blurs lines, sharing the intergalactic funk of a microscopic dance party. One Galaxy; Funk Vessel

Sample at the 2014 Infected Chimipalooza on 11/01/2014. Slightly hazy amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of brett, tart fruit and oak. Medium body with flavors of funky brett, vinous oak and berries. The finish is moderately tart with an oaky and fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle shared at tasting. Opened right after Ojos Negros. Not quite on the same level of finesse. Big test tube sour tones. Nail polish acetone tastes...still enjoyable somehow. Straightforward US Sour.

22 oz. bottle, thanks to Treebute. Pours a clear, bubbly orange color, with a medium, bubbly, fleeting, beige head. The aroma is caramel, raspberries, cardamon, some tannins, and a light earthiness. Very tart, with a nice fruity sweetness. Medium body, acidic, sharp, and metallic. Overall, this is a nice, vinous and tart beer, but lacks complexity.

Bottle. Funky brett, oak, lactic, and vanilla aroma. Hazy amber with a small off-white head. Mild sweet-tart, smooth funky lactic, light berry, oak, and vanilla flavor. Very, very subtle hop flavor in the finish, which didn’t come across as bitter - just more of a flavor. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation, dry finish.

Bottle shared at Dogbones’ apartment - pre RBWG. Pours orange amber with white head. Nose and taste of white grape, touch of acetone/nail polish, touch of soap, cherry vinegar and lacto sourness. A bit harsh on the palate. Medium body. Off notes are not overwhelming, but are present.

Draft - Funky is right, with a bit of orange and acetone. Cloudy orange with a thin white head. Funky, mellow sour, cheesy lacto, orange and tons of Bret. A very funky beer indeed.
