Ter Dolen Winter is a creation of our youngest brewmaster Hendrick. For the winter season, he chose to brew a dark beer with a deep red shine. On top of three varieties of malt and two breeds of hops, he added locally produced honey as well as cinnamon.

F: big, off-white, average lasting. C: dark red to brown, hazy. A: malt, caramel, herbal, molasses, brown sugar, grassy, light spicy, hint of fruity, yeast. T: malt, caramel, cinnamon, herbal, dried fruits, candy sugar, light of anise, medium to full body, medium carbonation, for me good balanced not typical but good one, 0,33l bottle from Dranken Corstjens - Prik&Tik in Maasmechelen.

From tap. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Bitter, sweet caramelish. Light toasted malty. Toasted dry finish.

Thanks. Sampled draft @ BBF 2014. Dark amber, off-white head. Nose is liquorish, herbs, malt, sugar. Taste is bitter liquorish, herbal malts, metallic, odd herbal bitterness in the back, malty, syrupy. Lightly metallic syrupy malts body. Imperfect but typical Belgian winter beer.

Donker roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en licht zoet met sporen van kaneel en banaan. Blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Light brown colour. Sweet candy and banana sweetness in the aroma. Flavour is fruity and sweet with some fruity red berry juice coming through strongly. Some dry yeasty elements in the finish. Sweet but good. Thankfully no trace of cinnamon to be found.

flesje uit Meern, tijdens de terugreis van Devoxx-14, schenkt koper met schuimige witte kraag. aroma van anijs, caramel, moutig, graan, zoet, en alcoholisch. Smaken zijn redelijk aan de zoete kant, matig bitter, redelijk fruitig van pruim/rozijn, tevens winterse kruiden van kaneel, caramel, zoethout, laurier, anijs, kardemom volgens mij, maar ook honing. redelijke body, ietwat romig in de mond. Al met al een specifiek winterbiertje door de krudigheid, maar prima te drinken !

Clear red orange beer, creamy light beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: liquorice, bit woody, fruity, some spices. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, bit sourish, lemony, soft bitterness, some caramel, lots of liquorice, aniseed. Aftertaste: lots of liquorice again, very spicy, aniseed, bit sweet, caramel, bit sourish. Meh, too spicy and I don't like aniseed or liquorice too much, so...
