03/09/2016 , free 75ml glass from Leffe van @ Brouwsels op de Straat, Eke. Cloudy amber colour with nice head. Nose and taste is sweet malty, ripe fruits, caramel. Reminds of mediocre barleywines what isn’t bad at it’s ABV.

Rusehtavan oranssin keltainen kirkas kupliva olut pienehköllä, pitsiä jättävällä vaahdolla. Tuoksu Leffeille tyypillistä hiivaisuutta, mutta myös ruohoisuutta ja marjaisuutta. Maku päihittää Leffe Blonden helposti ollen varsin marjaisa maultaan. Suutuntuma keskitäyteläinen, jälkimaussa pientä katkeruutta ja mausteista puraisua. Kiva ja hieman erilainen olut

0.33 l bottle from ’P&M Getränke’, best before September 2016, as a farewell present from my lovely colleagues (kept in my cellar for a year). Clear, amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, quite grassy and a little spicy aroma of straw, banana, some clove and yeast. Rather sweet, spicy and a little fruity taste of banana, clove, Belgian yeast, caramel, vanilla and some straw, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and a bit warming-alcoholic finish. Medium body, a bit creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not bad, definitely drinkable, but also not more than the typical sugar and alcohol bomb.

Copper colored, clear, medium white head, nice lacing. Aroma is of malt, brewing sugar, spices, bit fruit and Belgian yeast. Taste is medium+ sweet candy sugar, malt, spices, some fruits and yeast, light+ spicy bitterness, touch of alcohol. Medium+ bodied, average carbonation. Decent stuff but nothing spectacular.

Pours red gold with a small, creamy head. Quite carbonated. Sweet, but with a dry and warm finish. Hints of sugar, clove, and citrus. The 9% alcohol is noticeable, but not agressively so. A very pleasant sipping companion.
