Savanna Premium Cider first Siyavanna’d in 1996. Damn, we’re older than Black Twitter. But you know in 27 years you lay down a lot of roots. And like the trees our apples are grown on, our roots go deep. Which means though a lot has changed since ’96 – the way we bring Savanna to the people hasn’t, and never will. Because Siyavanna South Africa.

Aroma is not so bad with a scent of slightly dry apples. very nice orange colour, and it seems to be normal to have a lime wedge pushed into the neck. I’m not a big cider expert but this seemed pretty darn good with plenty of apple notes and a dry finish, and not too sweet. It has a good mouthfeel and is not overbearing to quaff. This seems to be a decent cider and excellent choice for everyday imbibing.

Bottle from ASDA. Golden in colour with moderate carbonation. Simple, sweet apple juice aroma. Flavour was also sweet, with some more, slightly stewed, fruit and a metallic, industrial finish. Not for me.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow with no head. Aroma is apple and fruit. Taste is smooth apple not over the top with carbonation.

Light blond color. The aroma shows some plastic. It has a sweetish flavor, not really fruit, quite artificial.

Bottled from AH. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma of apple juice. Sweet and sour apples in taste, bit carbonated. Ah well, it’s pretty ok drinkable.

Bottle, 5.5% ABV. A clear, yellowish golden body under a small, white head. Apples, bakers yeast and autumn air on the nose, quite orchard-ish. It’s slightly sour in the mouth, with some yeast and a good apple flavor. A bit boring though. Dry, slightly palate cleansing mouthfeel. I like the aroma of this one, but overall it’s a quite uninspired middle of the road cider. (090328)

Might as well, right? Pale yellow with a brief white head. Tart apple aroma. Very sweet flavor. Tastes a lot like commercial apple juice with carbonation. Not much of a finish to speak of.

Pours with a small, fizzy, quickly diminishing, white head covering a clear staw yellow body with some extremely small things floating around. Aroma of dry apples, a chardonay note, and some oak. Taste is ever so slightly funky, and is off-balanced. Dry mouth with champagne fizzyness.
