Made with medlar fruit in a basque style. The medlar is the cultivated predecessor to the pear. Reminiscent of delicately spiced apple butter when ripe, fermentation of medlar results in a delicious perry-like cider with aromatics of mulling spices & herbs.

500ml clear bottle from Press online. Pint glass @home. Clear, oily, dull, medium gold, spirited pour. Super sharp & floral nose. Like a sour-smelling quince. Sharp, tart, rose-y floral, mellow cider vinegar, grape but low tannin, glue; Sidra adjacent. Finish is a touch salty. Half crispy, thin with some buttery texture. Okay.

Bottle sampled at Cider festival. Slight hazy yellow with no real head. Tart apple, soft plums, light berries, light funk and mineral. Over light sweet and sour. Light bitter. Medium bodied.
